Friday, March 16, 2018. Well, Poetry month is only two weeks away so thought I would break out of my comfort zone and write an essay on authenticity in poetry. It is an exciting time in Canadian poetry, lots of new poets, lots of new voices, but try to get someone to say what makes for a good poem and many just stare at their shoes.

I am a professor and author. I use complexity science to examine threats to global security especially economic instability, environmental stress, ideological polarization, and mass violence and how people, organizations, and societies can respond to these threats.

Scholar of law, technoscience, and regulation. Where I am currently an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology and Legal Studies. And a fellow of the Balsillie School of International Affairs. I am also an Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award fellow and associate professor at RegNet, the School of Regulation and Global Governance.
